Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist (ACNS) – Cardiology
Band 8a: £62,681 – £67,665 per annum
Plus Distant Islands Allowance: £1,406 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week (reducing to 36 hours from 1 April 2026)

Responsibilities
* Lead the Cardiac Specialist Nursing Service, managing a caseload of approximately 300 patients and 15 new referrals each week.
* Ensure safe, effective nurse‑led cardiology clinics, including heart failure, cardiac rehabilitation, familial hypercholesterolaemia and chest pain assessment.
* Maintain strong links with off‑island consultant‑led services.
* Play a key role in clinical decision‑making, service development, education and provide specialist advice to colleagues, patients and families.
* Deliver evidence‑based, person‑centred cardiac care and support prevention, early intervention and long‑term condition management.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse with substantial experience in managing cardiac conditions.
* Advanced clinical assessment skills and independent prescribing.
* Strong leadership, autonomous practice and ability to work across professional and geographical boundaries.
