Are you looking to work in a friendly, fast-paced environment? We are looking for a keen registered Pharmacy Technician who can work independently and as part of a team to support the Central Pharmacy Stores with leading automations and day-to-day operations of Central Pharmacy. The successful candidate will line manage Pharmacy Assistants and support with day-to-day running of the department, working closely with the Principal Pharmacy Technician to maintain KPIs and promote GDP at all times. Maintaining inventory and space will be a large part of automation, supporting stock holding and the workflow of medicines distributed to wards and outside units in a timely manner.
Main duties
* Assist the Principal Technician – Purchasing, Supply and Logistics - Pharmacy to manage the daily requirements of the automated stock system (Robot) and related processes.
* Support the Senior Pharmacy Technician - CPSD Team Leaders with leading and line managing a team of Pharmacy Assistants and assist with referrals of complex service delivery problems.
* Coordinate training for the Stores and Distribution team, colleagues, rotational staff and Pharmacy Trainees as required.
* Assist in maintaining key performance targets and monitor quality of service provided.
* Ensure GDP training is delivered and recorded for each member of Stores and Distribution, rotational staff and Pharmacy Trainees.
* Be a key contact to communicate effectively with colleagues, wider pharmacy team and service users regarding updates on the automated system.

Qualifications
* Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with General Pharmaceutical Council
* Minimum qualification NVQ3 Pharmacy Services, BTEC Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
* Membership of Association of Pharmacy Technicians (APTUK)
* Train the Trainer
Experience
* Hospital pharmacy experience or relevant practice area; experience with pharmacy computer systems for ordering, stock control and managing pharmaceuticals
* Experience in a customer-focused environment
* Experience of line management and team management
* Experience of undertaking audits
* Experience with electronic prescribing and administration systems
* Experience in Pharmacy Distribution and Logistics, automated stock control, and leading on key projects
* Experience of team leadership and handling disciplinary matters appropriately
Knowledge
* Knowledge of Pharmacy stock control procedures
* Knowledge of automated systems (robot)
* Audit techniques and management of audits
* Knowledge of MHRA governance processes, GDP standards, and unlicensed medicines
* Knowledge of MHRA inspections and digital audit processes
Skills
* Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication
* Excellent organisation and investigative skills with attention to detail
* Communication with service users and internal/external stakeholders
