The Role
We are seeking an experienced Marine Electrician (or an Industrial Electrician with transferable skills) to join our growing team. The successful candidate will work on a variety of exciting projects, including new vessel builds, refits, and electrical system installations for major clients within the shipbuilding and industrial sectors.
Responsibilities
* Installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems onboard vessels and in industrial environments
* Fault-finding, repairs, and maintenance on a range of electrical equipment
* Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics
* Working with armoured, control, and data cabling systems
* Ensuring all work complies with relevant standards, regulations, and safety procedures
* Collaborating with project engineers and supervisors to meet project deadlines
Qualifications
* Time-served electrician with relevant NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification
* Experience in marine, shipyard, or heavy industrial electrical work
* Strong understanding of electrical installation practices and testing procedures
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Experience with control systems, switchboards, or automation
* Knowledge of marine standards (Lloyd’s, DNV, etc.)
* Valid ECS or JIB card
* CompEx certification (advantageous but not essential)
* Willingness to travel (advantageous but not essential)
