The Policy & Advocacy Analyst will support the planning, production and launch of flagship IGU reports, as well as the design and production of advocacy material (data, case-studies & key messages). These will need to be tailored for use with both IGU members and external stakeholders to illustrate the positive role that natural, zero and low carbon gases will play through the global energy transition. The role will directly support the Director of Strategy & Advocacy.
How to apply:
Please submit your CV and a covering letter (maximum 1 page), reflecting your fit with the requirements for this role to [emailprotected], using “Policy & Advocacy Analyst” in the subject line of your email.
The first round of interviews with the candidates whose CVs are considered suitable will be held in person, at IGU Secretariat office in London (Holborn), in the 3rd week of September 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Director in implementing the IGU’s Strategic Advocacy Plan.
* Development of IGU core messaging (data & narrative based) including targeted advocacy approaches to IGU external outreach (report launches, industry events etc) as well as multilateral events (COP, G7, G20)
* Support development and publication of IGU flagship reports (Global Gas Report, LNG Report, Wholesale Gas Price Survey) and well as ad-hoc, tailored research papers on thematic or regional aspects of the global gas industry.
* Liaise with external industry stakeholders to identify and implement strategic partnerships to further IGU advocacy objectives. Maintenance of working relationships with multilaterals, policymakers, legislators, academics and other policy influencers (NGOs, think-tanks etc.)
* Collaborate to develop and refine IGU policy positions, including collating third-party input and support. Liaison with IGU members and other supportive associations on policy advocacy activities, strategies, and messaging.
* Monitor key industry developments and latest research, including analysis and internal dissemination of key implications, take-aways and the potential for use in future advocacy or external outreach.
* Act as energy industry & policy subject matter expert and mentor to the wider Secretariat team.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Minimum of 3-5 years of energy industry experience. Experience working within an energy company or energy adviser/consultancy would be a distinct advantage.
* Excellent communication skills and the maturity to initiate, develop and maintain strong relationships with – often senior – industry leaders.
* Superb command of the English language – particularly written – is imperative, as is the candidate’s ability to proofread and understand geopolitical & multicultural nuances.
* Comfort working with energy industry data & research reports, as well as the ability to source, understand & interpret charts and graphs which highlight key aspects of energy markets.
* Self-starter & team player.
Travel:
International travel may be required, so all applicants must hold a valid Passport with a minimum validity date of one year.
