KEYWORKER Scale 5: £27,985 Full Time - 35 hours per week, Mon-Thurs 8.30 am - 4pm, Friday 8.30 - 3.45pm – Term time only Required: ASAP Closing date: 12 noon on 15th October 2025 Interviews: W/B 20th October 2025 Trinity School is seeking to appoint individuals with special skills, enthusiasm and a high degree of commitment to working with students with the highest level of need and challenging behaviour arising from autism. Our Additional Resources Provision (which includes The Living and Learning Centre) provides specialist education, care and support for pupils currently aged between 8 and 19 years, with a diagnosis of Autism, other complex learning disabilities and associated behaviours of concern. The provision helps to equip these pupils with vital communication, regulation and independent living skills. The job will require the successful candidate to work closely with one individual student and to take responsibility for the delivery of their educational, social and behaviour plan. As a Keyworker, you will be expected to develop a deep understanding of the needs of your allocated student. You will also be expected to carry out joint planning for your assigned student and to lead lessons in a curriculum area under the guidance of the centre’s Qualified Teachers. Applications are welcomed from individuals who: We are seeking individuals with a proven track record of working directly with pupils across primary, secondary, and sixth form settings, particularly those diagnosed with Autism and/or complex learning disabilities. Ideal candidates will have experience supporting young people who present with behaviours of concern and will demonstrate patience, resilience, and a genuine commitment to inclusive education. Applicants should have some familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication systems and an understanding of structured teaching approaches, such as the use of visual schedules, structured classrooms, and other supportive strategies. A willingness to engage in manual handling tasks—including personal care, auxiliary medical support, and behaviour management under guidance—is essential. We value a positive, proactive attitude and a strong commitment to continuous professional development. Candidates must be flexible, collaborative team players who are eager to learn and adapt. Basic ICT skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel, are required, along with a minimum of NVQ Level 2 or equivalent (e.g., 4 GCSEs at grade A*–C/grade 4 or above). Strong written and verbal communication skills are also essential, as is a willingness to follow assessment, recording, and curriculum procedures.
