Duties as English Teacher (ECT):
* Deliver engaging and well‑structured English lessons using pre‑planned materials.
* Teach English across Key Stage 3 and, where required, Key Stage 4.
* Maintain a positive, safe, and well‑managed classroom environment.
* Adapt teaching approaches to meet a range of abilities and learning needs.
* Follow school behaviour policies and safeguarding procedures at all times.
* Manage classroom routines confidently to ensure continuity of learning.
* Provide clear feedback and handover notes for permanent staff.
* Represent Step Teachers professionally while working as an English Teacher (ECT).
Ideal English Teacher (ECT):
* Qualified Teacher Status, suitable for Early Career Teachers.
* Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for teaching English.
* Confidence teaching English to secondary-aged pupils.
* A flexible, reliable, and proactive approach to supply teaching.
* Good classroom and behaviour management skills.
* Willingness to work across different school environments.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
* A positive attitude towards professional development as an English Teacher (ECT).
