The Role
An exciting opportunity for Senior Contract Managers to join our Procurement and Commercial (P&C) team supporting the RIIO T3 Onshore Capital Delivery programme, reporting to the Procurement & Commercial Manager.
This role supports some of the largest projects within the SSEN Transmission business and requires a Quantity Surveying background, experience on either the Client or Contractor side, with no specific Energy sector experience required.
You Will
* Negotiate contract T&C’s for projects valued £20M to £500M and manage commercial staff during the delivery phase, ensuring value for money.
* Demonstrate stakeholder engagement and management skills, influencing, leading and resolving disputes.
* Handle cost and forecast management, including cost reporting, change management, payment and expenditure management, and cost estimating.
* Provide robust post‑contract commercial management, negotiating compensation events and ensuring core principles of the Commercial Manual are implemented.
You Will Have
* Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent, with or working towards membership of RICS, CICES or a similar body; at least 5 years post‑graduate experience.
* Knowledge of commercial governance arrangements for large capital projects and experience in commercial, contract or cost aspects.
* Experience in estimating, sourcing, cost and budget management, and contract administration.
* Experience drafting and interpreting commercial contracts, knowledge of Standard Form construction contracts, NEC/FIDIC, and bespoke contracts.
