We are looking to strengthen our Delivery team with a Project Manager to manage the Design & Build phase in the Severn Trent Region.
You will report directly to the Senior Project Manager, and your role will be to manage the design, construction, commissioning, and activation of contracts to ensure they are completed efficiently, to specifications, within the required timeframe, and within the tender estimate, without compromising health and safety, while ensuring high customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Promoting exceptional safety and delivery quality standards among the workforce and subcontractors.
* Ensuring that the Building Management System (BMS) is implemented at all project stages, from tender handover to final completion.
* Maintaining good relationships with clients at all levels.
* Upholding the company's reputation by fostering strong relationships with joint venture partners and suppliers.
* Ensuring sufficient trained personnel are available and aware of their responsibilities.
* Planning projects, including reviewing and approving the Project Execution Plan (PEP), and monitoring project delivery.
* Preparing and approving detailed construction plans and method statements before activities commence.
* Completing and maintaining records as referred to in the PEP at contract completion.
* Reporting site non-conformities and estimating associated costs.
* Managing all commercial aspects proactively with accurate forecasts and estimates.
* Possessing detailed knowledge of project management practices from conception to end-user acceptance.
* Participating in continuous professional development through networking, conferences, and industry groups.
* Undertaking additional duties or training as reasonably required.
* Presenting a professional image and maintaining positive relationships in all contacts.
* Implementing quality, safety, and environmental policies and targets.
* Understanding customer requirements to enhance satisfaction.
* Maintaining practical knowledge of all technical disciplines involved in water and wastewater design and build projects.
About The Candidate
Essential:
* Experience in managing multi-disciplinary design and construction projects, ideally in the water industry.
* Degree or equivalent in construction, commercial, or engineering disciplines.
* Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent.
* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
* Delivery-driven with the ability to set targets and motivate teams.
* Experience in project delivery, strategic, operational, technical, and management skills.
* Knowledge of Construction Contracts, preferably NEC and/or IChemE.
* Ability to present at Governance Reviews.
* Risk and Opportunity Management experience.
* Knowledge of CDM and construction health & safety regulations.
Desirable:
* Experience in water and wastewater treatment plants.
* Chartered status with an engineering, commercial, or construction institution.
* NEC Project Manager Accreditation.
