We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Applications Engineer to join the Applications team within Slough, reporting to the Lead Engineer. As the Mechanical Applications Engineer, you will play a key role in providing engineering support and technical selections for dry gas seal applications in centrifugal compressors and related Turbo Machinery. Your developing expertise in high-speed rotating industrial equipment will be essential in conducting technical evaluations aligned with OEM customer requirements, utilising our state-of-the-art Dry Gas Seal products.
This role is based at our headquarters in Slough, working Monday to Friday during normal office hours with hybrid working.

Duties & Responsibilities
* Client Liaison: Collaborate with internal and external clients to identify their engineering requirements.
* Problem Solver: Investigate and analyze engineering issues, devising effective solutions that meet industry standards.
* Project Management: Plan and execute projects ensuring timely delivery, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
* Design Excellence: Work with the design team on solutions focusing on functionality, robustness, standardization, and cost-effectiveness, reviewing designs created in 2D/3D CAD, ANSYS, and other tools.
* Analytical Skills: Perform complex calculations and analyses using the latest engineering methodologies.
* Innovative Thinking: Identify new systems and processes to improve quality, efficiency, and reduce costs.
* Collaborative Communication: Maintain effective communication with engineers, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders.
* Global Reach: Be prepared for occasional travel to contribute to projects beyond Slough.
Qualifications
* Accredited bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
* Extensive industry experience.
* Knowledge of engineering sciences, materials, and manufacturing processes.
* Ability to review 2D and 3D CAD drawings.
* Experience with FEA (ANSYS) for stress, deformation, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics evaluation.
* Project management skills.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Team player.
