Job Title: Receptionist / Administrative Assistant Location: Newry Leisure Centre Salary: £14.07/h Hours : 18.25 Main Purpose of the Role To provide a welcoming and professional first point of contact for visitors and callers. The role involves handling cash transactions, managing bookings, and delivering efficient administrative support to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Key Responsibilities Reception & Customer Service: Act as the first point of contact for visitors and callers, operating the switchboard and responding to enquiries in a courteous and helpful manner. Provide general information and direct calls or visitors to the appropriate officer or external agency. Administrative Support: Perform a full range of administrative tasks including typing, filing, photocopying, and using Microsoft Office applications. Maintain both computerised and manual filing systems. Assist in preparing reports related to Council facilities. Cash Handling: Process payments accurately, operate the cash system, and ensure the safe keeping and lodgement of monies in line with Council procedures. Bookings & Scheduling: Manage computerised booking systems and diaries for facility reservations. Carry out follow-up actions to confirm booking requirements.
