Terminal Lead Operator

Whether you are looking for a change in career, or have experience working as a Port Operative, this hands-on role working as a Port Terminal Lead Operative position could be for you!
My client will consider a range of applicants for this role, ideally someone who has an understanding of COMAH regulations, but not a necessity. Whether you’re a tanker driver looking for a static role, or a warehouse/production leader looking for a change, ALL WILL BE CONSIDERED and full training will be provided!
Duties Include:
Manage and plan preventative maintenance tasks (e.g. meter proving, hose testing, equipment inspections)
Oversee stock control and coordinate deliveries and bunkering activities
Ensure all operations comply with site rules and regulatory guidelines
Lead and develop terminal staff, including managing training needs and on-call schedules
Monitor working hours and ensure compliance with working time regulations
Act as the liaison with port control and external stakeholders
Lead incident investigations and maintain site safety systems and documentation
Enforce health, safety, and environmental standards at all times
The successful candidate will have / be:
Able to lead a small team
An understanding of COMAH regulations – not essential but highly advantageous
Happy to work in an outdoor environment
Flexible to cover other shifts when required, sometimes at late notice
Confidence in handling risk assessments, emergency procedures, and high-hazard work
