About the Role
We're recruiting a PPM Planner for a leading Construction and Railway maintenance contractor delivering planned works across major London contracts. You'll own the end‑to‑end planning of planned preventive maintenance (PPM) activities-building efficient schedules, coordinating resources, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and contractual KPIs.
This is a critical, office‑based role in Wickford, working closely with Operations, Engineering, Commercial, and Client stakeholders to keep assets safe, available, and compliant.
Key Responsibilities:
PPM Scheduling & Coordination
Build and maintain weekly/monthly/annual PPM schedules in the CMMS/ERP (e.g., Maximo, SAP, CAFM).
Sequence work to minimise operational disruption; align plans with access windows and possession regimes.
Allocate labour, plant, and materials; issue work packs and permits.
Work Control & Readiness
Create job plans, task lists, RAMS, and method statements aligned to TfL standards.
Ensure prerequisite documents, access permissions, and logistics are in place ahead of execution.
Monitor work status and re‑plan in response to emergent issues or client priorities.
Performance, Compliance & Reporting
Track delivery against KPIs (on‑time completion, first‑time fix, asset availability, backlog).
Maintain auditable records; produce daily/weekly reports and look‑ahead plans.
Support audits and evidence compliance with safety, quality, and contractual obligations.
Stakeholder & Client Interface
Liaise with supervisors, engineers, commercial teams, and client representatives.
Coordinate with Stores/Procurement for materials readiness and lead times.
Chair/participate in planning meetings and handovers; action follow‑ups promptly.
Continuous Improvement
Analyse failure patterns and maintenance history to optimise task frequencies and scopes.
Propose improvements to planning processes, standard job plans, and data quality in the CMMS.Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a Planner/Work Scheduler in rail, infrastructure, or building services-ideally within TfL or London‑based service environments.
Strong CMMS/CAFM proficiency (e.g., Maximo, SAP, CAFM systems) and confident using Excel/Office 365.
Understanding of PPM methodologies, asset hierarchies, and maintenance standards.
Knowledge of RAMS, permits, safe systems of work, and industry H&S frameworks (e.g., CDM, LOLER, PUWER, Working at Height).
Excellent coordination and communication skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
Comfortable interpreting drawings, O&M manuals, task lists, and technical instructions.
Desirable: Experience with possession planning/access regimes; familiarity with TfL standards; IOSH/NEBOSH/PTS or equivalent tickets.Qualifications
Relevant technical or engineering background (NVQ/ONC/HNC or equivalent preferred).
H&S certification (IOSH Managing Safely or similar) advantageous.
