Innovation & Category Buyer
Location: Normanton (Hybrid - three days in the office, two days from home)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:00 (flexible)
Salary: £33,000 - £35,000
Our client is seeking an Innovation & Category Buyer to join their team. This role will focus on sourcing and managing suppliers, negotiating costs, and leading the introduction of new and innovative product categories.
The Role
- Identify, evaluate and launch new product categories in line with strategic growth plans.
- Source and onboard new suppliers, securing favourable commercial terms.
- Manage end-to-end product introduction, from concept through to launch and performance tracking.
- Analyse market trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities.
- Work cross-functionally with Procurement, Product Marketing and Sales to integrate new products.
- Ensure supplier compliance with responsible sourcing and quality standards.
- Monitor the success of new products, recommending adjustments to maximise value.
About You
- Proven experience in buying, product management, or category development.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of managing suppliers and costs.
- Commercially sharp with strong market analysis skills.
- Organised and results-driven, able to manage multiple projects.
- Innovative and creative, with the ability to shape compelling new product propositions.
