We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Data Asset Engineer.

We are HSBC’s Cybersecurity Science & Analytics (CSA) team. We use our award-winning advanced analytics platform to develop innovative products for securing one of the largest technology estates in the world. CSA is a unique and multi-skilled team of cybersecurity scientists, data and analytics professionals, and engineers. Our mission is to harness the power of data, analytics, AI/ML, and cybersecurity science to innovate and advance HSBC’s cybersecurity capabilities.

In this role you will:

•Develop data models that meet the reporting and analytical needs of the cyber team.
•Design and implement high-quality, scalable data models that ensure the integrity, security, and accessibility of Cybersecurity Data Assets.
•Collaborate with analytics/BI engineers to ensure these models are used effectively.
•Work alongside Cybersecurity colleagues to understand their needs and shape data assets that address their requirements.



To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

•Experience in data architecture, modelling, and database design, including star & snowflake schemas.
•In-depth understanding of ETL processes, and data warehouse architectures
•Hands-on experience working with multi-terabyte data sets, optimizing for performance and cost-efficiency.
•Experience with Databricks notebooks, Unity Catalog, and building scalable data pipelines using PySpark/Spark, SQL is preferred.
•Broad knowledge of cybersecurity principles and disciplines.



This role is based in Birmingham OR Sheffield.
