Orbex - Thermal Engineer Position
Orbex is seeking a Thermal Engineer to join our team, focusing on thermal analysis for the Orbex Prime Launch vehicle. Preference will be given to candidates experienced with launch vehicles, Thermal Desktop, and cryogenic systems. We welcome qualified graduate and junior engineers for this role.
About Orbex
Orbex is a leading micro-launch company preparing to launch from Scotland with our Prime and Proxima launch vehicles. We have secured over €158m/£133m in project financing, signed multiple customers, submitted a launch license application, and received backing from UKSA and ESA.
Our rapidly growing team operates from facilities in Forres, Scotland, and Copenhagen, Denmark. We innovate in rocket fuel technology, with Prime's carbon footprint being up to 96% lower than comparable vehicles. Our advancements include re-flight systems for recovery and reuse, and debris-free orbit leave-behind mechanisms.
We develop in-house production capabilities, including 3D printing complex engines, manufacturing full-scale carbon composite fuel tanks, and maintaining avionics and software testing labs in both locations.
Based in Forres, you will gain unique insights into building a new launch vehicle for a dynamic commercial market. Orbex is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity in aerospace.
