Are you hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced in mechanical assembly? Bralin Recruitment is working with a respected client in the manufacturing sector to find a skilled Assembly Technician to join their team, assembling and testing temporary traffic light systems.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the production of vital roadside safety equipment, supporting smooth production output and ensuring all units meet strict safety and performance standards.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
1. Assemble temporary traffic light units and control systems from components to finished product.
2. Follow technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and detailed instructions.
3. Carry out mechanical assembly of traffic systems using hand and power tools.
4. Ensure high standards of build quality and report any defects or issues.
5. Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment, adhering to 5S and Health & Safety practices.
6. Liaise with stores, logistics, and design teams to meet production targets and resolve issues.
7. Complete relevant documentation for build data, test results, and any changes.
8. Support with stock checks, goods-in inspections, and general workshop upkeep.
9. Engage in training and continuous improvement initiatives.
🕒 Working Hours
10. Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
11. Friday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
12. 42 hours per week, including:
30-minute unpaid lunch
Two 10-minute paid breaks per day
✅ What We’re Looking For
13. Hands-on experience in mechanical and/or electrical assembly.
14. Ability to read and work from technical drawings and wiring schematics.
15. Competent using hand tools, power tools, and electrical test equipment.
16. Awareness of workshop health and safety standards.
17. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
18. Positive, flexible, and team-oriented approach.
💡 Desirable (Not Essential)
19. Previous experience assembling electronic or signalling equipment.
20. Understanding of portable traffic light technology.
21. Engineering qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, BTEC).
22. Familiarity with ISO 9001 or lean manufacturing methods.
