About the Role
As a Junior Product Development Engineer, you'll play a hands-on role in the R&D team, contributing to the design, prototyping, and testing of advanced nebulisation technologies. Your work will directly influence the next generation of drug delivery devices.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with engineers and researchers to drive product development forward.
* Support development and optimisation of nebuliser technologies.
* Translate product requirements into technical solutions.
* Generate, evaluate, and develop new design concepts.
* Prototype components and design test fixtures.
* Conduct and troubleshoot experiments to verify technical solutions.
* Assist with 3D printing and prototype assembly.
* Record, analyse, and interpret experimental results accurately.
* Work in compliance with ISO13485 standards.
* Contribute to risk management activities (e.g., dFMEA).
* Maintain a clean and organised laboratory environment.
About You
Required Qualifications & Experience:
* BSc/BEng (or equivalent) in product design, mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, or a related discipline.
* Minimum of 2 years' experience in a product development role (exceptional recent graduates will also be considered).
* Practical experience with component design, prototyping, and use of lab/test equipment.
* Comfortable working in both dry and wet lab environments.
* Understanding of experimental design and data analysis.
Desirable Skills:
* 3D CAD modelling (SolidWorks or similar).
* Experience with statistical tools (Excel, Minitab, or similar).
* Simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL).
* Basic programming (Python, Arduino IDEs).
* Familiarity with mechanical workshop tools and techniques.
Soft Skills:
* Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
* Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
