You will be joining the learning disability nursing workface at a very exciting time of progress and development. Within NHS GGC learning disability nurses will work either within inpatient or community services.
The role of a Learning Disability Nurse is to support individuals and their families to ensure health needs are met and individuals are able to reach their potential and live meaningful lives.
As a Learning Disability Nurse you will work across the lifespan. Our population has a diverse range of health needs from early diagnosis to end of life care. You will play a vital and unique role working as part of a multi-disciplinary team within a health care setting. You will contribute to:
1. Assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating holistic, person centred care.
2. Reduce health inequalities of people with learning disabilities.
3. Reduce barriers to health and care services to promote an individual’s wellbeing.
4. Support people with a learning disability to live a fulfilling life.
