About the role
A specialist asset lending business is looking for a Financial Controller to take ownership of the finance function. The business operates across multiple jurisdictions, has a strong track record of deployment and is in active growth mode, both organically and through acquisition.
This is a hands-on leadership role with meaningful exposure to funding structures, covenant reporting, lender relationships and cash management. You'll be the primary contact for auditors and funding partners, and a key figure in developing the finance function as the business scales.
What the role involves
* Leading financial control and reporting across a multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction group
* Primary contact for external auditors through year-end and interim processes
* Financial reporting to funders, bondholders and lenders including covenant compliance
* Oversight of tax and statutory filings across multiple jurisdictions
* Managing accounting for loan origination, servicing and funding transactions
* Cash flow forecasting, debt servicing models and capital allocation
* Overseeing daily payments, banking relationships and payroll
* Managing and developing a small finance team with scope to grow it
* Driving process improvement, automation and efficiency across the function
What we're looking for
* Qualified accountant — ACA, ACCA or CIMA
* Practice-trained with subsequent financial services industry experience
* Exposure to lending, structured finance or asset-backed environments strongly advantageous
* Strong technical accounting background across complex, multi-entity structures
* Comfortable engaging at board level
* Systems literate, advanced Excel, open to technology and automation
