Are you highly organised, detail-oriented, and looking to grow your career in? We are currently seeking a Purchasing Assistant to join our team and play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our procurement process.
Key Responsibilities:
As our new Purchasing Assistant, your duties will include but are not limited to:
· Booking in Goods In and managing deliveries via our calendar system
· Checking and investigating zero stock levels from the previous day
· Monitoring inventory and identifying purchasing requirements
· Placing purchase orders with suppliers, distributors, and manufacturers
· Tracking outstanding orders and ensuring timely delivery
· Sourcing new products and suppliers as required
· Setting up and maintaining accurate product codes and records
· Processing purchasing returns and managing minimum order quantities
· Ensuring stock is correctly located and investigating any lost or damaged goods
· Inputting supplier invoices into Sage
· Comparing supplier prices and assessing product quality
· Reporting shortages or damages to suppliers and managing resolutions
· Communicating any supplier issues or delays to relevant internal teams
· Updating pricing information for the sales team when necessary
· Maintaining strong relationships with current suppliers
· Keeping comprehensive and accurate purchasing records
· Arranging direct deliveries as needed

About You:
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
· Previous experience in a purchasing or stock control role
· Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
· Good communication and relationship-building skills
· Confidence using Microsoft Office
· Experience with Sage (preferred not essential)
· A proactive, problem-solving approach and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
