As we continue our journey of growth and expansion to serve the new era of nuclear energy, Boccard, as a leading specialist in engineering, manufacturing, construction and maintenance in the nuclear energy industry, we are looking for a Contract Manager who will be responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of projects in line with contractual obligations and procedures, while proactively managing and mitigating contractual risks.
Based at our Bristol office, the role will also involve travel to internal and customer sites to attend meetings with key stakeholders, supporting strong collaboration and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
The responsibilities will include:
Contractual Analysis & Risk Management
Analyse and understand the full scope of projects, including reviewing ITT non-technical documents to identify and mitigate contractual risks.
Evaluate contractual risks and opportunities, assess their financial impact, and propose operational measures or supplementary services to enhance contract performance.
Ensure all contractual terms and obligations are clearly communicated to the project team and integrated into the delivery plan.
Contract Administration & Documentation
Maintain accurate records of events impacting project delivery, ensuring traceability and proper archiving of all contractual documentation.
Support the Project Manager in contract administration, including the preparation of early warnings, change orders, recovery plans, and other contractual communications.
Ensure proper flow-down of main contract conditions to procurement and project teams, and oversee all steps related to contract closure.
Stakeholder Engagement & Issue Resolution
Manage commercial relationships with clients, sub-contractors, and vendors to foster effective collaboration.
Track, resolve, and escalate critical issues to minimise project risks and ensure timely resolution.
Provide support during pre-contentious and contentious phases, liaising with legal teams and reporting incidents or damages as required.
Skills and qualification
Knowledge of and/or experience in Project Management, Contract Management or law of contract
Knowledge of key types of contracts (NEC3, NEC4, FIDIC, Common law)
Experience of working in an industrial environment
Experience of managing relationships with the client
Experience of leading negotiations with the client (develop and present a strong argument)
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge of MS Pack Office
