Job Description
Great opportunity for a MEICA Process Engineer working for a very successful civil engineering contractor on a major project near Portsmouth.
You will be responsible for providing technical and project management support for the Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation. Supporting the project team during construction and commissioning phases.
You will be responsible for managing and updating the MEICA aspects of the project programme with the assistance of our project programmer and MEICA Design Project Manager.
Responsibilities of the MEICA Process Engineer
1. Develop, manage, and support the technical MEICA design.
2. Contribute to the development of detailed MEICA designs, specifications, drawings, and calculations, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
3. Assist the procurement process for MEICA equipment and services, including vendor selection, tender evaluation, and contract negotiation.
4. Identify design interfaces and risk assess these interfaces, understanding commercial, practical, and operational impacts.
5. Review MEICA design buildability and costs with MEICA Design PM and Delivery Team.
6. Support the commercial team in preparing inquiries and procuring subcontract packages.
7. Build effective relationships with the supply chain.
8. Promote a culture of collaboration, integration, continuous improvement, and best practice.
9. Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets related to process design and M&E interfaces.
10. Review technical specifications, tender documentation, and contract deliverables.
11. Lead client and stakeholder meetings, presenting technical solutions and addressing queries.
12. Lead process design and optimisation, overseeing the conceptual and detailed process design for clean water applications, ensuring compliance with standards such as DWI and EA, and client specifications.
13. Develop and optimise treatment strategies, including coagulation, flocculation, clarification, filtration, disinfection, pH correction, and sludge treatment.
14. Undertake optioneering and feasibility studies to evaluate different treatment technologies and process configurations, presenting sound and commercially viable solutions.
15. Act as the primary technical interface between process design and mechanical and electrical engineering teams.
16. Ensure seamless integration of process requirements with M&E components, including pumps, valves, instrumentation, control systems (SCADA/PLC), and power distribution.
17. Provide process input for the selection, sizing, and specification of M&E equipment, reviewing vendor data and technical submissions.
18. Participate in HAZOP, ALM, and other safety review processes from a combined process and M&E perspective.
19. Provide technical support during tender clarification, construction, commissioning, and handover phases.
