Senior Pharmacist - Dispensary
Band 6/7
37 hours per week, 12 months Fixed Term/Secondment
Flexible working arrangements and part-time hours will be considered.

About the Role
As a key member of the Medicines Supply Chain team, you will work with the Dispensary leadership team, and be supported by the Lead Pharmacist Medicines Supply Chain and the Pharmacy Operations Manager.
This role will provide the scope to work towards the fours pillars of the RPS practice frameworks
9. Leadership and management
- provide professional and clinical expertise, liaising with clinical pharmacy and MDT colleagues, professionally verifying prescriptions and carrying out an accuracy checking role when required.
- work with a great team of Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacy Support Workers and Rotational Pharmacists delivering a high quality service to meet Key Performance Indicators.
- be involved in the TURAS review process and the job planning process.
10. Clinical Practice
-there is potential for you to support 1 to 2 clinical sessions per week if desired.
11. Education, Training and Development
you will lead on the Development, Implementation and ongoing review of the Dispensary component of the Experiential, Foundation and Post registration Pharmacist programs.
-there is potential for you to be supported on the Pharmacist Independent Prescribers course if desired.
12. Research and Quality improvement
- spend some time working in the clinical trials service, learning about GCP and key aspects of clinical trials.
- review allocated Standard Operating Proceduresto improve efficiency and support the maintenance of a quality management system.
- carry out a quality improvement project, and learn the principles of QI methodologies
- drive innovation by supporting an exciting program of improvements in Medicines Optimisation and Efficient Medicines Supply Systems.

Hours of work are 37 per week. Flexible working arrangements and part-time hours will be considered. The post may be offered as a secondment opportunity for 12 months; prior written approval must be sought from your line manager if applying for a secondment to this post, and you will be required to bring this if shortlisted for interview.
The post holder will be required to contribute to extended hours, weekend and public holiday rotas as per service requirements.
