Job overview

We are recruiting for a Specialist Support Nurse - Renal Transplant who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
The successful person will be responsible for the provision of high quality, patient focused care by assessing, developing and implementing specialist nursing care programmes. You will be also responsible for providing specialist advice and support to, and liaising with, other staff.

Main duties of the job

The Specialist Support Nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care as a practitioner with specialist skills and provide advice and clinical expertise to other members of staff.
You will also be in a position to provide specialist clinical advice for patients and carers.
You will be required to carry a caseload, and take responsibility for the management of allocated cases.
The post holder will always look to improve and maintain standards of care within the specialty.
The successful candidate will also help other nurse's by improving their skills, enabling them to provide the highest standard of care for patients within the specialty.

* Registered nurse
* Relevant experience in renal
* Continuous professional development
* Teaching or mentoring qualification
* Post registration qualification in specialty or willingness to complete

* Relevant experience in renal
* Demonstrate expert nursing skills
* Evidence of mentorship/preceptorship roles
* Accept personal accountability for own practice
* Experience of formal/informal teaching

* Experience within a renal transplant setting

* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Capable of working as an integral member of a small team
* Flexible and adaptable to changing situations due to both workload and colleagues needs
* Ability to undertake teaching of staff and patients
* Ability to work unsupervised and manage own workload
