Project Engineer
Location: Avonmouth with travel to customer sites
Salary: £35,000 to £40,000
Hours: Monday to Friday 09:00am – 17:00pm
About the Role
Sora Recruitment is partnering with a leading engineering business to recruit a Project Engineer to join their team. Reporting to the Senior Project Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering technical solutions, designs, and engineering across projects. You will work closely with the Senior Project Manager and wider delivery team to ensure projects are executed successfully from planning and design through to delivery.
This is a development-focused opportunity offering a clear path to a senior role. The role requires collaboration across multiple departments and occasional travel to customer sites.
Key Responsibilities

Attend site visits to assess customer requirements and support quotations.

Liaise with customer project and Health & Safety teams.
*
Develop technical drawings, calculations, visualisations, manuals, risk assessments, and other project documentation.

Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards..
*
Specify, understand, and implement plant, equipment, and technical requirements.
*
Conduct and support accident/incident investigations; review RAMS (including subcontractor RAMS).
*
Identify, report, and mitigate risks and hazards; maintain safety documentation.
*
Keep up to date with industry and legislative changes, ensuring compliance.
*
Build strong relationships with internal teams and external suppliers/partners.
*
Act as the key interface between customers and internal departments for smooth project delivery.
Requirements
*
Experience in manufacturing, engineering, or warehousing environments preferred.
*
Technical knowledge of sectors such as Pharmaceutical or Semi-conductor and experience with OEMs.
*
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential information.
*
Excellent written and verbal communication with a confident, professional phone manner.
*
Customer-focused with strong interpersonal skills.
*
Comfortable working autonomously and collaboratively.
*
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); Dynamics CRM experience desirable.

Knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
*
Experience implementing safe systems of work and managing risks.
*
Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
