Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (LSA)£14 HourLocation: SheffieldJob Type: Full-Time / Part-Time (Term-Time Only)Job PurposeTo support young people and adults (ages 16+) with diverse learning needs in an inclusive Further Education setting. You will help students overcome barriers to education, develop independent life skills, and achieve their academic or vocational goals.Key Responsibilities
* Academic Support: Help students understand course materials, assignments, and practical tasks in classrooms or workshops.
* SEND Implementation: Deliver tailored support in line with student Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
* Independence Building: Encourage students to manage their own learning, time, and social interactions.
* Collaboration: Work closely with tutors, lecturers, and the additional learning support team to track student progress.
* Access Arrangements: Assist students with exam accommodations, acting as a reader, scribe, or proctor when required.
Requirements
* Education: GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
* Experience: Previous experience working with young people or vulnerable adults is highly desirable.
* Skills: Excellent communication, patience, and the ability to adapt to changing classroom environments.
* Compliance: Must hold or be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
