Role Overview
We are looking for a talented and motivated Architect / Consultant / Technologist / Building Scientist with a background in architecture and a specialism in sustainability and building physics to support an increase in commissions for passivhaus and zero carbon buildings and support us in our ambition to deliver all projects to RIBA's 2030 outcomes.
Responsibilities & Skills
* Experience working in a UK architecture / environmental design practice / consultancy
* Proven 2-3 years experience as an energy / sustainability consultant for the built environment sector, including Daylight, Energy and Overheating analysis experience - Accredited Energy Assessor and/or experience of using energy modelling software e.g. SAP, SBEM and IES is essential.
* Experience of preparing Energy / Daylight / Overheating reports for planning applications.
* Ability to work individually or as part of a team at all stages of the architectural process.
* Ability to manage packages of work independently.
* Technical capability and understanding of UK legislation and guidance in relation to environmental sustainability issues.
* Is self‑motivated with a passion for design, the quality of the environment and client satisfaction.
* Good communication skills, verbal, written and presentation.
* A sound understanding of sustainable building design and delivery.
* Necessary professional qualifications (e.g. MSc in sustainable/environmental design) and be able to demonstrate recent experience of working on passivhaus or zero carbon buildings.
* Certified passivhaus designer or retrofit qualification desirable.
* Ability to use Revit desirable.
