Management Accountant
Rochester, Kent (Office-based)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to join a well-established and growing organisation based in Rochester. This is a fantastic role for a motivated finance professional looking to play a key role in financial reporting, business partnering, and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and analyse monthly financial reports, providing clear commentary and insights
* Reconcile key control accounts and investigate variances
* Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including cashflow forecasting
* Monitor financial performance, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement
* Provide financial input into strategic decisions, including projects and investments
* Assist with cost control and efficiency improvements across the business
* Partner with non-finance stakeholders to support budget management and financial understanding
* Review and maintain financial policies, procedures, and systems
* Support the Finance Director with the statutory audit
* Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements
Requirements
* AAT qualified and/or part-qualified ACCA or CIMA
* Previous experience in a finance or accounting role
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate financial data clearly
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong Excel skills; experience with Sage 1000 or similar systems is advantageous
* Ability to manage workload, meet deadlines, and work under pressure
* Experience in sectors such as transport, logistics, or waste is beneficial but not essential
