* Location: Bedford, MK42
* Hourly Rate: £13.28 per hour
* Hours per week: 4 hours per week Term Time and 8 hours per week in School Holidays. Total ~6-8 hours; preferably at the weekend.
Responsibilities
* Support and encourage Marcus, a 19-year-old, to access the community and stay active with activities such as walking, visiting local parks, looking in shops, swimming, fun fairs, trampoline, bowling, or going out to eat.
* Establish and respect Marcus’s preferences, ways of communicating, choices and wishes, and maintain respect at all times.
* Be patient and engage with Marcus by allowing him to go at his own time and speed to adjust to his environment.
* Recognise when to step in and support him and show him how to complete activities in the community.
* Remain calm when facing unexpected challenges and be quiet, confident, and able to take action to resolve situations safely.
Required Training and Qualifications
* Demonstrate an understanding of the needs of vulnerable people
* Experience of working in a caring role
* Good verbal communication skills
* Good understanding of epilepsy or willingness to learn
* Good personable skills
* An understanding of Health & Safety issues
