Site Technician - Preston/ Lancashire - Field Based
Location:Preston, Lancashire (Field-based, with nationwide travel)

XAIS-PTS Ltd is seeking enthusiastic, reliable, and technically minded individuals to join our growing team as a Site Technician. This is an exciting opportunity to work on diverse infrastructure projects across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
* Conducting on-site testing, inspections, and sampling of structures and pavements
* Operating survey vehicles and specialised testing equipment
* Managing and verifying data, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of survey results
* Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and industry regulations
* Performing minor repairs and troubleshooting equipment on-site as needed
* Documenting daily activities, reporting, and maintaining clear communication with the team
* Maintaining and servicing vehicles/equipment as required
* You’ll travel extensively, often working away from home, including overnight stays, night shifts, and weekends as projects demand
Person Specification
Must-Have:
* Full clean UK driving licence
* Willingness and ability to work nationwide and regularly be away from home
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
Ideal to Have:
* Experience in sampling, testing, or highway surveying
* Valid CSCS card
* Technical proficiency with survey equipment, computers, and data management systems

* Self-motivated, disciplined, and adaptable
* Strong attention to detail and quality control
* Problem-solving skills and a proactive, “can-do” attitude
* Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively
Salary & Benefits
* Competitive salary between £27,000 - £32,000 (depending on experience).
