Teenage and Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist Orthopaedic Oncology

We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered General Nurse (RGN) with oncology experience to join the sarcoma specialist nursing team. The role supports and maintains excellence of clinical care for teenage and adult patients under the care of the sarcoma service at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Main duties of the job
* Work as a member of the Macmillan specialist nursing team, planning, coordinating and delivering patient care for teenagers and adults with sarcoma and metastatic bone disease.
* Support patients diagnosed with sarcoma and their families to ensure effective communication relating to treatment pathways and to enhance the patient and family experience throughout the journey.
* Act as the keyworker and facilitate the provision of specialist orthopaedic oncology care, co‑ordinating care across the cancer journey and providing information and support.
* Work closely with the extended multi‑disciplinary team to ensure effective communication relating to treatment pathways and patient experience.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered adult nurse with current NMC registration.
* Specialist oncology qualifications.
* Advanced communication skills training.
Skills
* Thorough knowledge of adult oncology patient management, care & disease process.
* Knowledge of personalised care and support planning and HNA.
* Thorough knowledge of adult sarcoma patient management.
Experience
* Evidence of working as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.

Salary: £49,387 to £56,515 per annum (pro rata if part‑time).
