We are recruiting a Operations Facilities Manager for one of our clients in the technology sector to join the team, focusing on a significant HQ Trophy Asset in the Centre of London. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day technical operational delivery of all Hard FM services, ensuring the building infrastructure is maintained to the highest standards, guaranteeing maximum uptime, and ensuring full statutory compliance. The role will ensure the operational proficiency in managing the site, delivering a full range of technical FM services: hard services, critical systems management, maintenance and repair, energy & sustainability, and small technical projects.
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Facilities Manager to execute the day-to-day Operations strategy and operations for our prestigious, large-scale London Headquarters. This role is pivotal in ensuring our clients' prestigious and world-renowned environment provides a safe, reliable, and technically efficient workplace for all.
The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in managing complex building services, critical plant, and infrastructure, specifically drawing from high-spec corporate campuses, data centers, or technically demanding commercial real estate. This role demands a proactive, detail-oriented leader who can merge high-level technical expertise with corporate operational efficiency to create a truly robust and compliant workplace.
Key Accountabilities
● Technical Operations and Compliance
● Oversee all aspects of Hard Facilities Management (FM) services, including HVAC, electrical distribution, mechanical plant, plumbing, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
● Implement and manage a robust Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance schedule to ensure maximum uptime and operational reliability of all technical building systems.
● Ensure strict compliance with all local and national Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations, including statutory inspections, testing, and certifications (e.g., LOLER, PSSR, F-Gas, Emergency Lighting).
● Manage critical infrastructure, including UPS, generators, and data center support systems, to maintain business continuity and minimize risk.
● Oversee the execution of minor technical assignments and capital improvement projects related to building infrastructure.
● Deployment of Technical Operations training for on-site staff and vendors.
Operational Excellence
● Oversee all aspects of facility management operations on site, focusing on hard services, infrastructure maintenance, and building system performance, ensuring operational effectiveness and compliance.
● Manage the site operational budget and control site-level costs for all technical services, driving
efficiencies without compromising system integrity.
● Oversee and manage the technical services and engineering teams, creating a culture focused on safety, compliance, and technical excellence.
● Work alongside your Facilities Manager peer leading on overall FM delivery and contractual requirements.
● Manage technical vendor and supply partner relationships for the site, ensuring all external service providers adhere to the highest standards of quality, safety, and technical professionalism.
● Implement a continuous improvement program for the site's infrastructure, soliciting feedback and using data to refine maintenance strategies and improve asset lifespan.
● Management of multiple buildings and spaces.
Stakeholder Management and Communication
● Serve as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders regarding technical environment, building systems, and infrastructure projects.
● Collaborate with IT, Security, and other internal departments/Service Pillars to ensure the technical workplace supports business objectives and operational needs.
● Effectively communicate technical performance, risk assessments, operational updates, and key metrics to stakeholders through regular reports.
● Create a customer responsive culture providing robust technical solutions.
● Ensure technical reliability and compliance is maintained at the highest level by providing a high quality and proactive service.
● Support the achievement of account savings glidepath and strategic development plan.
● Provide best practices along with an effective and efficient service in response to changing technical and customer needs.
Commercial Acumen
● Support the financial planning and cost controls for the on-site operations.
● Ensure the planning arrangements are in line with forecast/s and profit targets for the site.
● Able to challenge and improve all aspects of cost and performance of the site business, particularly related to maintenance contracts and energy consumption.
● Ongoing development of the relationship with client and their teams on site to ensure full understanding of the clients' technical needs.
● Maintain open, professional relationships with the client's technical supply partners.
● Meet KPIs and contractual obligations for the site.
Experience Required
● Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in facilities management or senior operational roles with a strong focus on technical services and building engineering.
● Demonstrable experience managing hard services in a large-scale, complex commercial, campus, or critical environment (e.g., data center, lab facility, high-rise office) is a strong requirement. Experience must include strategic input on maintenance planning, technical compliance, and risk management.
● Proven track record of managing a large, complex physical facility with significant building services infrastructure.
● Experience managing operational budgets and coordinating capital improvement projects for technical assets.
● Networked in the Technical Facilities Management or Commercial Real Estate sectors.

● Exceptional leadership and people management skills with a passion for technical excellence, managing a team of on-site engineers and technical vendors.
● Deep technical knowledge of building services, including BMS, HVAC, electrical distribution, and critical systems.
● Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all organizational levels.
● Strategic thinker with a hands-on, detail-oriented approach to technical execution and problem-solving.
● Deep understanding of health, safety, and compliance regulations relevant to large commercial properties in the UK, including Permit-to-Work systems.
● Proven leader who motivates teams to effectively deliver technical and operational targets.
● Hands-on general management experience in delivering services and profitability in an FM arena.
● A good understanding of contracts and negotiations with strong organisation and communication skills.
● Highly customer focused, with good Customer Relationship Management experience.
● Combination of a bachelor's degree in engineering, building services, or a related technical field, and/or extensive operational experience in facilities management. Professional technical qualification is highly desirable.
● Skilled communicator and presenter in small and large groups.
