Technical Lead

We are seeking a skilled Technical Lead to oversee the delivery of technical services across a PFI healthcare estate, ensuring compliant, efficient and reliable maintenance operations.
This role requires strong mechanical or electrical expertise, coupled with the ability to lead a team within a highly regulated environment.
Job Description
We are looking for a hands-on, solutions-focused individual who can provide technical escalation support, manage critical engineering activities, and maintain high standards of safety, compliance and service performance.
The successful candidate will ensure that all operational, statutory and client requirements are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide day-to-day operational leadership for technical services across the site.
* Act as the escalation point for engineering, technical and operational issues.
* Manage budgets, forecasting, engineering KPIs and cost-control activities.
* Allocate tasks and oversee completion of planned and reactive maintenance works.
* Lead safe systems of work, including AP duties, LOTO and critical switching operations.
* Maintain up-to-date O&M manuals, technical drawings and asset records.
* Manage subcontractors and vendors, ensuring safe access and compliant delivery.
* Support audits, reporting, equipment evaluations and preparation of scopes of work.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
* Strong technical services experience within estates or building services.
* Mechanical or Electrical background (HND/HNC or NVQ3+).
* Strong working knowledge of HTMs including:
HTM03-01 (Ventilation)
HTM04-01 (Water)
HTM05-01 (Fire)
HTM06-01 (Electrical)
HTM08 (Lifts)
* Experience working in water management and regulated environments; healthcare experience beneficial.
* Proven experience managing teams within technical services.
* Strong CAFM and work order control knowledge.
* Experience managing subcontractors, budgets and KPI performance.
* Willingness to be appointed as an Authorised Person.
* Strong analytical, risk assessment and problem-solving capability.
* Ability to provide 24/7 availability for emergencies or corrective works.
