Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join our growing team in Coleshill What you'll be doing Following and enhancing processes to allocate costs and reduce disallowed costs Generation and analysis of cost reports Regular reporting and analysis Maintenance of data, e.g. employee list, asset register System administration Charging costs between JV partner and JV in line with contract Monitoring of overhead costs Reconciliations / project splits of bank transactions, VAT Corrections / journals (project costs and inter-company) Ensuring daily BACS payments are approved and cash is collected monthly Communicate with commercial team on deadlines, review cost accuracy and accruals Understand the impact on wider accounting position of JV and JV partners Who we're looking for Ability to understand processes and the logic/architecture behind them, e.g. ERP system, group processes and coding structure Attention to detail to ensure accuracy of tasks and data Self-starter, you will be working as part of a small team but need to be tenacious in completing of your own tasks Using excel to analyse a large volume of data, and summarise/present costs accurately and clearly is essential Experience of Power BI to enhance the above would be desirable Communicate analysis of costs clearly, and be able to answer queries Why work for us Day in, day out, our teams deliver amazing projects in challenging conditions; developing, managing, and maintaining the vital infrastructure and public spaces that modern economies, societies, and communities rely on.
