An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Corporate Legal Counsel to join a high-performing, collaborative Group Legal function within a global, market-leading organisation. Sitting within the central legal team, this role combines senior stakeholder exposure with people management responsibility and broad, business-critical legal work.
The Opportunity
This is a key role within an established legal team, offering the opportunity to act as a trusted advisor across a complex, international business. The organisation is entering a new phase of transformation and growth, driven by continued investment and a strong focus on innovation and modernisation.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, while also taking on leadership responsibility for two members of the team.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Contribution
* Manage, mentor, and develop two members of the legal team, supporting their growth and performance
* Act as a senior member of the Group Legal team, contributing to team culture, strategy, and continuous improvement
* Partner with the Corporate Legal Director on key priorities and initiatives
Corporate & Commercial Advisory
* Provide pragmatic, commercially focused advice across a wide range of corporate and commercial matters
* Support key functions including Finance on areas such as structuring, governance, financing, and treasury matters
* Support Indirect Procurement on engagement with external consultants and third parties
* Advise on corporate governance, risk, and compliance across a multinational business
Intellectual Property Oversight (no prior experience needed)
* Oversee the organisation’s IP function, including trademarks, brand protection, copyrights, and domain management
* Provide strategic input on IP portfolio development and enforcement
* Act as escalation point for complex IP matters
Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Finance, Procurement, ESG, Communications, and other central functions
* Proactively identify and mitigate legal risk
* Contribute to transformation initiatives, transactions, and wider group projects
Experience & Qualifications
Essential
* UK-qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience in corporate and commercial law
* Strong grounding in private practice with subsequent in-house experience in a multinational or complex organisation
* Proven senior stakeholder management experience, with the ability to influence at leadership level
* Demonstrated ability to lead and develop legal professionals
* Experience managing external counsel and legal budgets
* Strong commercial judgement and ability to operate with autonomy
