Your Role and Responsibilities
As a SEND Teacher, you will play a crucial role in delivering the Secondary curriculum to small, bespoke class groups of up to 6 pupils, supported by a Teaching Assistant. Your responsibilities will include:
* Planning and teaching well-structured lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and schemes of work.
* Assessing, monitoring, and reporting on the learning needs and progress of your pupils.
* Adapting your teaching methods to meet the diverse strengths and needs of your students.
* Setting high standards that inspire and motivate your pupils.
* Demonstrating secure subject knowledge and participating in preparations for external tests.
* Teaching across the KS3/KS4 Curriculum and adapting learning for students with SEND.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should have:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree.
* Successful teaching experience, particularly in delivering qualifications up to GCSE.
* Experience in Humanities, PE, or vocational subjects is preferred.
* A solid understanding of the National Curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
* Strong relationship-building skills with pupils and knowledge of child protection practices.
* Good ICT skills, especially in using technology to enhance learning.
