Overview

To provide support to service users at Wigan Talking Therapies, which is a Talking Therapy service within GMMH. Supporting qualified clinicians within the service you will play a role in aiding the deliver of low intensity interventions. You will have a responsibility of co-facilitating wellbeing courses alongside a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner and will take a leading role in the administrative duties for the groups.


Responsibilities

* To engage with service users, such as having conversations, co-facilitating wellbeing courses, inputting data and recording clinical notes.
* Arrange the bookings for wellbeing groups and contact service users to arrange their place on these.
* Be responsible for screening referrals into the service and liaising with Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners regarding any referrals which need contacting for risk management.
* To engage in promotional activities and attend community events and external services to discuss pathways into Talking Therapies.
* To support clinicians with data entry and support the performance team with correcting incorrect entries each week.
* The post holder will be able to respond flexibly to the needs of service users and the needs of the service.
* Update PCMIS and Paris database to record information and complete progress notes about service users, when consent has been agreed.

Under the direction of the qualified practitioner, participate in the delivery of planned care within Talking Therapies. The post holder will undertake a range of duties which include:-


Role duties

* Participate in the implementation of specific programmes of care or therapy under the supervision of qualified staff
* Participate in regular supervision, engage in reflective practice and be committed to continued development
* Provide information to enable the effectiveness of care to be evaluated.
* Ensure appropriate records are maintained under the direction of the qualified practitioner.
* Contribute to the involvement of service users, and carers/relatives in the delivery of care
* Provide reassurance and support to service users and carers/family
* Work collaboratively within the Care team to ensure that service users’ needs are met
* Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations
* Contribute to the development of services
* Contribute to the effective and efficient use of resources
* Understand and adhere to Trust policies, procedures and clinical guidelines
* Report any concern regarding service user care to the Qualified Practitioner
* Contribute to service improvement initiatives to enhance quality of service user care
* Participate in service user and public involvement activities
* Support individuals’ equality, diversity and rights
* Participate in Serious Untoward Incident investigations/reviews as required
