An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Nurse within our A&E Department. This is a dual role working as a Senior A&E Staff Nurse supporting the SCN primarily with management support but also clinically as required as an ENP.
We treat approximately 10,000 patients a year, including nearly 2,000 children. We have a wide variety of outdoor pursuits and events in the Lochaber area (The Outdoor Capital of the UK) and consequently see a number of patients associated with various sports.
We require a NMC Registered Nurse with current significant A&E experience, preferably working as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner with a course specific to Patient Assessment, Minor injuries, and other relevant modules such as “Red Dot” course & Non-Medical Prescribing. Management experience along with Trauma, Orthopaedic, and Paediatric experience would be advantageous.
You should have good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work autonomously, flexibly, and as part of a team. Rotational shift work is part of the role.
We are looking for a caring person with a continuing interest to keep professional knowledge current, who enjoys working in a team but also has the ability to work independently with confidence.
We will consider applications from experienced A&E Nurses who are currently studying towards a Nurse Practitioner Role or planning to undertake relevant study from a recognized provider starting this year. Such applicants would be paid on Band 5 Salary Scale until the successful completion of relevant modules.
Your contract may be terminated if you fail to successfully complete the relevant training to become a Nurse Practitioner within our Department.
