What you'll be doing:
Leading and managing a small but mighty team of up to 5 Developers and testers, bringing a blend of technical and functional skills to designing and delivering solutions. You will be a hands-on leader with the want to mentor and get stuck in with the day to day aspects of building and scaling.
Key responsibilities:
1. Leading a multi-functional team of Software Engineers and Software Testers.
2. Co-ordinating the on-going development, stability and maintenance activities relating to in-house software applications / solutions.
3. Working with other development teams and partners to ensure overall initiative is implemented cross functionally.
4. Working across the business to ensure project delivery and providing accurate estimations and solutions to various business partners.
5. Provide leadership and management to Development team, dealing with day to day staffing issues and co-ordination of development / maintenance tasks.
6. Develop and test reliable, effective and scalable solutions.
7. Conducting business analysis with business stakeholders and gathering requirements.
8. Documenting requirements, specifications, release notes.
9. Provide training, support and assistance to operational and testing teams.
10. Remain current on new developments within the developer community, evaluate applicability and drive rapid adoption of them.
What you'll need to have:
Essentials Skills
11. 10+ years of proven Software Development experience using Microsoft technologies such as C#, MS SQL, Azure
12. Strong understanding of various Software Testing methodologies
13. Excellent ability of explain technical concepts to appropriate audiences in non-technical terms
14. Extensive experience maintaining and supporting software solutions
15. Must have an understanding of OOP fundamentals and best practices / common design patterns
16. Experience working with the full software development lifecycle
17. Strong understanding of databases technologies, such as MS SQL or similar
18. Hands on experience of source control such as Git
19. Understanding of Agile/Scrum, Project Management, SDLC, ITIL and Data Security & Compliance and other frameworks
20. Led and directed small teams of software engineers and software testers, contributing to the teams learning development and carrying out performance reviews.
21. Comfortable in creating, preparing and delivering presentations to multiple key stakeholders.
It would be great if you also have
22. Prior experience of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery. Azure DevOps or similar
23. Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
24. Working on both Modern and Legacy systems
25. Experience of ensuring stability of legacy systems with a path to modernisation
