JOB FUNCTION: To provide relevant and high quality physical performance sessions across the age groups working with. To support injury prevention, return to play and the LTAD model of the Women's Academy.
About the role:
To deliver an elite LTAD programme designed to produce players that are physically capable of playing for Chelsea FC Women.
Main Responsibilities:
* To deliver football specific physical sessions, relevant for the age group and implement.
* Support with and deliver rehab based pitch sessions across the age groups in accordance with the Women's Academy lead physio
* To plan sessions appropriately to the ability of the current players and in accordance with the technical document and syllabus.
* To work with the age group Head Coach, Assistant Coach, Medical Lead and Goalkeeping Coach, when planning the delivery of sessions.
* To report any safeguarding concerns to both the Academy Player care lead and Academy Welfare Officer.
* Work closely with the Medical Team and support injury prevention as well as return to train and play protocols are followed.
* To support on all players IAP’s and target setting meetings. This will be done in accordance of the Physical performance lead and age group Head Coach.
* To undertake a progressive and ongoing professional development process, attending and participating in in-house CPD sessions (when possible) and external sessions (if relevant).
Skills and Behaviours required:
* MSc or other equivalent post-graduate qualification in Sport and Exercise Science or something similar (Desirable)
* FA Safeguarding Qualification
* FA First Aid Qualification
* UEFA C Licence (Essential)
* Experiences working within Academy football or with Youth Female Athletes
* 3-5 years’ coaching experience in an elite youth development football environment (Essential)

* Excellent communication & interpersonal skills to be able to work successfully across a range of stakeholders (e.g. age group coaches, parents, Senior Team staff).
* Strong leadership skills to lead the Physical Performance programme across the academy. Is accountable & responsible.
* Has a passion for youth development and understands the process of managing & developing talent.
* Has good reflection skills to review individual & departmental performance and make necessary changes where/when necessary.
* Is creative & has a clear idea of how to progress the Academy Physical Performance Strategy.
* Shows great attention to detail & delivers the highest standards regardless of the task.
* Is keen to learn & experience new things to develop as a practitioner.
