Materials Science Lab Tech Job

A Manufacturer of Polyurethane Foams are seeking an experienced Lab Tech to join them at their facility in Derbyshire. Prior experience and confidence in a Lab setting is essential for this role as you will be working largely autonomously. Previous experience in a similar environment such as within PU Foam development/Testing or a similar industry such as Paints, Polymers or similar Chemicals is essential.
Role Overview
* Temporary (initially 6 months), Start Date: ASAP, Hours: 4 days per week, Monday-Thursday 8AM-4PM (flexibility around exact start and finish times). £19ph
* Assist in creating and updating SOPs for a range of procedures including: Physical Testing, Fire Testing, Formulation
* Conduct a range of lab based physical and chemical testing including Density, Hardness, Resilience and Fire Testing to assist with product development and testing.
* Work independently in the Lab, but alongside colleagues from other departments.
Requirements
* Background in Chemistry or Materials Science
* Experience in Materials Testing, Polymers, Chemical Formulations, Foams, Paints or Similar closely related areas.
* Comfortable working independently but collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Must be available to begin on 11/05/26 or 18/05/26 in DE55.
