Position Overview
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 18 months in the first instance. The Mateo Sanchez lab, located in the Yusuf Hamied Department of Chemistry at the University of Cambridge, is hiring one research assistant.
Role and Responsibilities
The researcher will work on the synthesis of substrates that will be later tested for the discovery and development of biocatalytic reactions. Specifically, we are looking for someone with a background in synthetic chemistry and catalysis. The candidate is expected to participate in the development of new ideas and concepts in collaboration with the PI and senior members of the group, combine their expertise with the core capabilities of the lab, work on projects as part of a team and communicate the results clearly. Candidates will be virtually interviewed, and successful applicants will be invited to visit the lab. The start date is negotiable but preferably by the 1st of October 2026. Requirements
Experience in the use of HPLC or GC will be highly desirable. Candidates should have a background in synthetic chemistry and catalysis.
