Senior Bid Manager

At Telent, you will be part of something bigger. You will help keep the nation's critical networks connected and protected 24/7. Reporting into the Head of Bidding, you will lead large and complex bids within our Rail division, coordinating and managing multi-disciplinary bid teams to develop compelling written and financial submissions, while supporting Business Development Managers.
What you’ll do
* Work closely with the Sales team, SMEs, and technical/commercial leads to develop compelling written and financial responses.
* Manage end-to-end bid production and production of timely, high-quality bids in line with Telent’s procedures.
* Develop bid-winning strategies in partnership with opportunity owners and business heads.
* Produce materials from go/no-go stage through submission, deal review, and win/loss reviews.
* Provide post-bid submission support, including coordinating responses to clarification questions and supporting customer presentations.
* Challenge processes that hinder good customer service or process improvement.
* Lead improvements in bid quality, ensuring best practice approaches are pursued.
* Monitor costs throughout the bid process, eliminating non‑value‑add activities from own bids.
* Share lessons learned with the bid team.
Key Requirements
* Strong project management and organisational skills.
* Financially astute; ability to create & interpret financial reports and models.
* Demonstrable experience winning as part of a high‑performing, efficient bid team.
* Proven experience leading & delivering high and medium‑value bids, ideally in a services or solutions environment.
* Ability to write concise, winning tender responses and conduct “Red Review” answers.
* ITT response writing and cost response financial skills.
* A degree in Law, Business, Marketing or similar is desirable.
