Head of Operations (Lincoln)
Salary: Up to £80,000 DOE + generous benefits
Were working with a fast-growing, technology-led manufacturing site in Lincoln looking for an experienced operations leader to take full ownership of site performance, delivery and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on senior role for someone who thrives on driving operational excellence in a technical manufacturing environment and who can scale processes and teams as the business grows.
What youll own
* End-to-end responsibility for site operations from material receipt to finished goods and on-time customer delivery.
* Lead and develop the operations team (production, planning, quality, warehouse) to hit delivery, quality and safety targets.
* Set and manage site budgets and forecasts; drive margin improvements through tighter cost control and productivity gains.
* Own planning, inventory and supplier performance to ensure materials, capacity and cashflow are optimised.
* Implement, monitor and report key operational KPIs and use data to drive rapid improvement.
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, process redesign) to raise throughput and reduce waste.
* Ensure compliance with health & safety and any applicable quality standards; partner with Quality on audits and corrective actions.
* Act as a senior leadership team member contribute to strategic planning and help scale the site as the business grows.
Who were looking for
* Proven senior operations/plant management experience in a technology, electronics, defence or specialist manufacturing environment.
* Comfortable in a project-driven setting managing multiple concurrent releases or customer programs.
* Strong track record of delivering cost, quality and on-time delivery improvements.
* Hands-on leader who can motivate and develop multi-disciplinary teams.
* Solid experience with planning, inventory control and supplier management.
* Experience with operational systems and tools (ERP/production planning, Excel/BI dashboards, CI methodology).
* Excellent communicator who can translate operational priorities into clear plans and mobilise the team.
* Degree or equivalent in engineering, operations management or related discipline preferred.
Nice to have
* Experience in regulated environments or familiarity with quality management systems (ISO, similar) is advantageous.
