Job Title: KS4 SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Pontefract, West Yorkshire Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only Start Date: ASAP or by mutual agreement Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience and qualifications About the Role: We are looking for a committed and empathetic KS4 SEN Teaching Assistant to join our specialist SEN school in Pontefract. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students aged 1416 with a range of complex needs including autism, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties. The ideal candidate will be Team Teach trained, with a strong understanding of de-escalation strategies and positive behaviour support. Youll work closely with teaching staff to help students access learning, build confidence, and develop essential life skills. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored support to KS4 students with special educational needs. Assist in the delivery of differentiated lessons and activities. Support students with emotional regulation, communication, and social interaction. Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies. Use Team Teach strategies to manage behaviour safely and effectively. Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents/carers to ensure holistic support. Requirements: Team Teach trained (certificate must be in date). Experience working with children or young people with SEN (preferably KS4). A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or equivalent) are desirable. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
