About the Role: We are looking for a Planning & Development Delivery Manager to lead the operational and financial backbone of our Planning and Building Control services. You will manage budgets, drive improvements, and bring strong attention to detail. Experience in built environment disciplines (from personal renovation projects or professional work) is required. You will be responsible for financial forecasting, systems optimisation, performance reporting, and service innovation to ensure Planning and Building Control services are future-ready and financially sound. You will respond to simple enquiries related to Planning and Building Control and lead multidisciplinary teams through digital transformation and change initiatives.
What you’ll do:
* Lead activity analysis, financial and performance monitoring across key built environment income‑generating services
* Keep multiple workstreams moving: from systems development to customer experience
* Optimise systems and processes for real‑time insight and strategic decision‑making
* Support systems and digital transformation and service innovation
* Shape the future of Planning and Building Control with smart data, forecasts and governance
* Work with stakeholders across planning, regeneration and customer service
* Manage new tasks quickly and keep multiple plates spinning
* Make logical, confident decisions based on experience and data
Experience you’ll bring:
* Understanding of bookkeeping from running a business, charity or club and keeping things on track behind the scenes
* Management of budgets or services in public or private sector settings
* Strong Excel skills and a practical, problem‑solving mindset
* Ability to learn quickly, lead others with clarity and calm
* Focus on process improvements and hands‑on delivery
* Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills with resilience
* Knowledge of the built environment sector
* Experience in systems development within the built environment sector, performance management and stakeholder engagement
