Role: Fleet Operations Manager

Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom

Shift: Monday - Friday (Days)

Salary: £42,500 - £45,000 + Company Bonus & Additional Company Benefits


Key Responsibilities for the Fleet Operations Manager role:

* Fleet oversight: Taking ownership of the company's commercial vehicle fleet, including vans, HGVs, and specialist vehicles, ensuring they are roadworthy, compliant, and ready for use.
* Maintenance and repairs: Scheduling services, MOTs, inspections; managing breakdowns; maintaining detailed maintenance records.
* Cost control: Monitoring expenses such as fuel, tyres, insurance, and leasing; seeking ways to reduce waste and enhance value.
* Compliance and safety: Ensuring adherence to all legal, safety, and environmental standards; maintaining accurate documentation for audits.
* Driver liaison: Supporting drivers with vehicle issues, communicating planned downtime, and ensuring they have necessary resources.
* Supplier management: Collaborating with garages, leasing companies, fuel card providers, and other partners; negotiating contracts and ensuring accountability.
* Continuous improvement: Challenging the status quo, identifying inefficiencies, and proposing smarter working methods.


Key Skills

* Proven experience in Logistics, Distribution, and Supply Chain environments, preferably as a Fleet Operations Manager
* Strong understanding of fleet compliance standards
* Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
* Proficient in using fleet management systems, trackers, and spreadsheets
* Ability to work independently and make informed decisions
* Effective communicator, comfortable engaging with drivers to directors
* Ownership mentality with pride in operational excellence
