Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor - Balvac

The Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with strong NEC contract experience.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in managing commercial performance, leading our commercial team, and supporting successful delivery across a diverse portfolio of projects. You’ll be office-based in Warrington 2–3 days per week, working closely with operational teams, subcontractors, clients, and senior leadership.
What you'll be doing
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support a team of Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Administrators.
* Manage subcontractor accounts, including dispute resolution where required.
* Drive value maximisation through effective change control and contract management.
* Ensure accurate weekly cost reporting, valuations, and WIP management.
* Prepare payment applications and support the business in achieving cash flow targets.
* Provide commercial insight to Project Managers, Contracts Managers, and the Commercial Manager.
* Support annual budget preparation, monthly reforecasting, and profit & loss reporting.
* Build strong relationships with clients, supply chain partners, and internal stakeholders.
Who we're looking for
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior QS—ideally within structural repair, concrete remediation, highways, infrastructure, civil engineering, or similar technical environments aligned with Balvac’s work.
* Strong working knowledge of NEC4 contracts (essential).
* Skilled in developing and managing subcontracts and commercial agreements.
* Highly organised, analytical, and confident communicating with stakeholders at all levels.
* Strong IT skills (Word, Excel) and clear, professional presentation abilities.
* A team player with integrity, accuracy, and a proactive approach to problem solving.
