Position Overview: MRI Software is hiring a Senior QA Engineer to play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products. This position focuses on executing thorough software testing within the Revenues & Benefits and Non-Domestic Rates (NDR) domain to maintain MRI’s standards of excellence. This role demands a strong understanding of software quality assurance practices and the ability to assess whether the product is fit for purpose. Responsibilities: Test Design & Execution: Identify both positive and negative test scenarios based on Revenues & Benefits and NDR requirements. Create relevant test data and develop test scripts, requesting peer reviews when appropriate. Impact Analysis: Assess the potential impact of new or updated requirements on existing Revenues & Benefits functionality. Team Collaboration: Provide guidance and support to both onshore and offshore team members to ensure smooth progress of testing activities. Effort Estimation: Deliver accurate test effort estimates upon request, covering data preparation, scripting, and execution phases. Quality Assurance: Perform all necessary testing types to confirm the application meets release standards and is fit for purpose. Environment & Data Planning: Prepare test environments and data ahead of execution to ensure readiness. Defect Management: Log bugs and defects with detailed reproduction steps, particularly around NDR calculations, exemptions, and benefits entitlement rules. Progress Reporting: Communicate testing progress and blockers to the Head of QA, Programme Release Manager, and Scrum Master. Requirements: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Non-Domestic Rates (NDR) within the Revenues & Benefits domain. Proven ability to apply a range of testing techniques to ensure comprehensive application coverage. Strong understanding of both the customer perspective and statutory business rules in Revenues & Benefits. Skilled in reviewing existing QA processes and identifying opportunities for improvement. Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving abilities. Effective communicator with strong negotiation and influencing skills. Collaborative team player who contributes to group success.
