Contract: Full Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026 or sooner
Salary: £32,916 – £51,048 per annum
Are you an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Teacher of Economics looking to inspire young people to understand the world of business, finance, and economic decision-making?
GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Teacher of Economics to undertake a role within local secondary schools in Malton and the surrounding areas.
As a Teacher of Economics, you will deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons that encourage students to explore economic theories, market structures, and contemporary economic issues, preparing them for further study and future careers.
Teacher of Economics Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver high-quality Economics lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
* Develop students’ understanding of microeconomics, macroeconomics, and economic decision-making
* Encourage critical thinking and analysis of current economic issues and trends
* Support students of varying abilities to achieve their academic potential
* Assess, monitor, and record student progress effectively
* Create a positive, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating learning environment
* Prepare students for examinations and support their academic development
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student achievement and wellbeing
Teacher of Economics Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent teaching qualification
* Specialism in Economics, Business, Finance, or a related subject
* Experience teaching Economics at secondary school
* Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
* A passion for Economics and student development
* Excellent communication and organisational abilities
* An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
* An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
